Pass the Vault Associate exam with hands-on Vault 1.16 labs, scenarios, output drills, and seven mock exams

What you'll learn
⚡ Choose and configure the right auth method for people, pods, pipelines, and servers, and link logins to entities and groups
⚡ Write and debug least-privilege policies, including KV v2 paths, deny rules, wildcards, and templated policies
⚡ Predict token and lease behavior: hierarchies, orphans, batch and periodic tokens, TTLs, renewal, and revocation
⚡ Use KV v2, dynamic database and cloud credentials, response wrapping, and transit encryption as a service
⚡ Explain Vault's architecture, sealing, Shamir and auto unseal, Integrated Storage, replication, and HCP Vault Dedicated
⚡ Deliver secrets to applications with Vault Agent, Vault Proxy, the Agent injector, and the Vault Secrets Operator

Requirements
❗ Basic command-line skills and a general understanding of applications, credentials, and networking.
❗ No prior Vault experience is required. Familiarity with a cloud platform or Kubernetes helps for some labs.
❗ Optional: the Vault 1.16 binary installed locally to follow the labs in dev mode.

Description
This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

Pass the HashiCorp Certified: Vault Associate (003) exam by learning to predict exactly what Vault will do.
The Vault Associate exam goes beyond definitions. It asks what happens when a parent token is revoked, why a policy denies a path that looks allowed, which auth method fits a pod, a pipeline, or a person, and what to run in the middle of an incident. This course builds that judgment onVault 1.16, the version listed in the official exam guide.

What makes this course different
✨Every objective, then practice. Sections 2 to 14 teach every objective in the official 003 guide. Twenty more apply that knowledge with labs, scenarios, output drills, traps, and mock exams.

✨Real commands and output. Labs walk through vault CLI commands and the output they produce, so exam screenshots look familiar.

✨A continuing story. Scenario sections follow Kestrel as it builds its Vault platform, from first unseal through design reviews and incident response.

✨Explanations for every answer. Every practice question explains why each option is right or wrong.

What you'll learnSections 1 to 3: Foundations. The exam format, Vault's interfaces (CLI, API, and UI), dev mode, and the architecture of encryption, sealing, unsealing, Shamir secret sharing, and auto unseal.

Sections 4 to 8: Identity and access. Auth methods for people and machines, entities and groups, policy syntax and evaluation, token types and hierarchies, and leases, renewal, and revocation.

Sections 9 to 12: Secrets. KV v2 versioning and deletion, dynamic database and cloud credentials, response wrapping, and transit encryption, rotation, rewrap, and datakeys.

Sections 13 and 14: Deployment and access management. Integrated Storage, HA, replication, HCP Vault Dedicated, Vault Agent, Vault Proxy, the Agent injector, and the Vault Secrets Operator.

Sections 15 to 34: Apply it. Three rounds of hands-on labs, three rounds of practice sets, scenario deep dives, ops and incident drills, exam traps, under-the-hood internals, API and CLI mastery, industry scenarios, output-reading drills, learner questions, case-based question sets, and seven full mock exams with exam-day strategy.

Section 35: Final objective review. Every objective in recall form, plus the numbers, defaults, and commands you must recognize.

Practice that mirrors the exam
✨ Seven narrated mock exams with full explanations

✨ Section quizzes for every teaching section

✨ A full practice test of 59 questions in the style of the exam

Who this course is for
⭐ Platform, DevOps, cloud, and security engineers preparing for the HashiCorp Certified: Vault Associate (003) exam
