Build an automated PNL, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow forecast with Power Query, driver-based FP&A and scenario analysis

What you'll learn
⚡ Build a fully integrated three-statement model: Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement
⚡ Automate a financial model with Power Query so all three statements update when an input file changes
⚡ Use driver-based forecasting to model revenue, COGS, marketing, store operating costs and G&A
⚡ Model Balance Sheet schedules: inventory, receivables, prepayments, PPE, payables, accruals, loans and equity
⚡ Forecast cash and trigger short-term financing automatically when the business runs low on cash
⚡ Use Power Query to append, merge, unpivot and consolidate a whole folder of input files
⚡ Build and compare best case and worst case scenarios with a single parameter change
⚡ Work like a real analyst: collect, check and challenge assumptions from different departments

Requirements
❗ Comfortable with Excel basics: entering formulas, cell references and simple functions such as SUM
❗ Desktop Excel on Windows with Power Query (the demonstrations use desktop Excel on Windows)
❗ A basic understanding of the three financial statements helps; a short intro first is recommended if they're new to you
❗ No Power Query experience needed: Module 3 covers it from scratch

Description
Most financial modeling courses teach you to build a model once. This one teaches you to build a model that keeps working when the numbers change.

You'll build a completethree-statement financial model in Excel, with an Income Statement (P&L), Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement, andautomate it with Power Query. Update an input file, click Refresh, and all three statements update themselves. No copying, no pasting, no broken links.

Learn financial modeling the way it happens on the job
You join Nova Retail, a 15-store retail chain, as a financial analyst. Management wants a 12-month forecast. Can the business afford its plans? How much cash will be tied up in working capital? Will it need a bank loan? The inputs arrive from sales, marketing, store operations, HR and procurement, each in its own file and format. You'll turn them into one integrated model that answers those questions.

What you'll build, step by step
✨Modeling fundamentals: driver-based forecasting, the financial analyst's role, and choosing the right level of detail

✨Power Query from scratch: connect to files, clean and transform data, append, merge, unpivot and consolidate whole folders

✨The P&L: revenue, COGS, marketing, store operating costs and G&A, each driven by real input files

✨The Balance Sheet: inventory, receivables, prepayments, PPE, payables, accruals, loans and equity

✨Cash forecasting: a cash balance that automatically triggers short-term financing, with finance costs flowing to the P&L

✨The Cash Flow Statement: built from the P&L and Balance Sheet, then stress-tested by changing a cost assumption

✨Scenario analysis: a dynamic data source so you can run and compare best-case and worst-case scenarios with one change

What's included
✨ 67 lectures, about 5 hours of video

✨ 37 downloadable Excel exercise files, so you can build the model alongside every hands-on lesson

✨ A finished, automated financial model you can reuse as a template for your own work

Who this course is for
⭐ Finance and business students who want practical modelling skills
⭐ People stepping into their first financial analyst or FP&A role
⭐ Analysts and accountants who have built static models and want to automate them
⭐ Anyone who forecasts business performance in Excel and wants a reusable, refreshable model
