Porsche Cayenne AC compressor noise – any good Sharjah shop?
#1
My 2014 Cayenne's AC started making a rattling noise when the compressor engages, and I'm pretty sure it's on its way out. The dealer in Dubai quoted a ridiculous amount for a replacement, so I've been looking at independent shops in Sharjah. I found a page for Porsche AC repair but the site only had a button that said "Learn More" without any real details or customer reviews. Has anyone here actually taken their Porsche to a Sharjah AC workshop and had a good experience, especially with compressor or condenser replacements? I don't want to end up with cheap parts that fail after one summer. Any recommendations would really help.

Rattling on compressor engagement that is getting worse on a Cayenne at this age is almost always the compressor clutch bearing or internal damage from low refrigerant running the compressor dry. Confirming which before sourcing parts matters because the repair scope is completely different.

Dealer pricing on a Cayenne compressor replacement is consistently one of the most marked up jobs at Porsche authorized centers. Independent Sharjah specialists who source quality OEM equivalent parts do the same job for significantly less without compromising on component quality.

Cheap compressor parts failing after one summer is the legitimate concern on any performance SUV in UAE heat. Asking the shop specifically which brand of compressor they source and whether they can show you the packaging before installation protects you from that outcome.

Any serious AC specialist will also replace the receiver drier and expansion valve alongside the compressor on a Cayenne. Skipping those components when the compressor has failed internally risks contaminating the new unit quickly and is the most common reason replacement compressors fail prematurely.

A site with only a learn more button and no real details is not enough information to make a decision. Calling directly and asking about their Cayenne AC experience, which compressor brands they use, and whether they include the full system flush is the conversation worth having before driving over.
