To open and repair a word file, use Microsoft Word's Repair feature. Start Word and click on File > Open > Browse. Select the corrupt file without opening it. From there, click on the drop-down arrow next to the Open button and click Open and Repair. Word will try its best to repair the file and retrieve any readable text. If that doesn’t work, try opening a backup of the file or use the Recover Text from Any File feature, if available. This will recover the text, but may not be able to recover other elements such as formatting and images.
