Check in, catch a taxi, fix a hotel problem and handle an emergency, and understand locals who talk fast.
What you'll learn
⚡ Handle check-in, security, immigration and boarding announcements in Spanish
⚡ Take taxis, rideshares, buses and the metro, and get off at the right stop
⚡ Check into a hotel, ask for what you need and solve problems politely
⚡ Pay, withdraw cash, understand fast prices and bargain at a market
⚡ Explain symptoms and allergies at a pharmacy or doctor, and understand the dosage
⚡ Call for help, report a theft or a lost passport, and know your destination's emergency number
⚡ Understand locals who answer fast, using keywords and quick rescue phrases
⚡ Recognise the words that change between Mexico, Spain and Colombia
Requirements
❗ No previous Spanish is strictly needed: every phrase is taught as a ready-made chunk
❗ Knowing numbers 1-100 and a little present tense helps, but it isn't required
❗ A device, headphones and a place where you can speak out loud: no software or textbook
Description
You ask a question in Spanish. Someone answers. Fast. And you freeze.
Most travel phrasebooks teach you half of the conversation: what to say. Then the airline agent, the taxi driver or the pharmacist replies at full speed, and the phrase you memorised is no help at all.
This course fixes both halves. You learn exactly what to say in the moments that really go wrong on a trip - and, in every single lesson, what to do when the answer comes back fast.
You follow Sam, a traveller from Chicago, on a five-week trip throughMexico City, Madrid and Medellín. She checks in, gets lost in a terminal, loses a bag, argues politely about a broken air conditioner, bargains at a market, visits a pharmacy and has her phone stolen. Every lesson is one real travel scene, so the Spanish arrives exactly when you need it.
What you will be able to do
✨ Check in, pass security and immigration, and follow gate announcements at a Mexican or Spanish airport
✨ Report a lost bag or a missed connection, and understand the reference number and delivery time you're given
✨ Take a taxi, meet a rideshare driver by phone, and use buses and the metro without missing your stop
✨ Check into a hotel, ask for what you need, and complain politely until a broken room gets fixed
✨ Use ATMs and card terminals safely, catch prices said fast (including Colombian tens of thousands) and bargain politely at a market
✨ Describe symptoms and allergies at a pharmacy or clinic, and understand dosage instructions
✨ Call for help, give your location, report a theft and handle a lost passport - knowing the right emergency number for your destination
✨ Recognise the words that change between Mexico, Spain and Colombia (coche, carro, auto · coger or tomar · celular or móvil ) and avoid the embarrassing ones
How the lessons work
Every lesson follows the same rhythm: the survival phrases for the scene, the words that change from country to country, one small pattern that unlocks them, the one mistake tourists always make, a full dialogue, and then the part most courses skip -"What if they answer fast?": a local replies at natural speed, you try to catch the key words, and then you hear it again slowly with the key words highlighted. Practice rounds leave a silent gap for you to answer out loud, and a lightning review closes every lesson.
You also get a one-page cheat sheet for every lesson, a quiz after every two lessons, an emergency wallet card, a regional-words reference and a fill-in travel phrasebook for your own trip.
Who this is for
✨ Travellers heading to Mexico, Spain, Colombia, Costa Rica or anywhere in Latin America
✨ Digital nomads, retirees and business travellers who want to handle real situations without switching to English
✨ Beginner and lower-intermediate learners who know some Spanish but freeze when a local answers at normal speed
Who this is NOT for
✨ Learners looking for a grammar course - here every phrase is taught as a ready-made chunk you can use the same day
✨ Learners who mainly need directions and restaurant Spanish - those are covered in a beginner course; this one focuses on the moments that go wrong
The Spanish you'll hear comes from Mexico, Spain and Colombia, and the course tells you which words belong where, so you understand people wherever you land.
Press play on Lesson 1, and by the end of the course you'll be ready for the whole trip - the questions and the answers.
